Non è un segreto che io sia un fan del lavoro di Salisbury e Barrow. Con la loro musica per la serie horror Netflix di Rebecca Sonnenshine, Archive 81, non hanno ancora deluso me (o chiunque altro). L’uscita di Invada Records/Lakeshore Records mette in mostra l’approccio incredibilmente inquietante e fantasioso del duo alla composizione di musica per film e TV. Sono pronti a sfidare le nostre nozioni preconcette su come dovrebbe essere una colonna sonora, lasciando lo spettatore bloccato in uno stato di perenne meraviglia e terrore mentre guarda questo spettacolo su un ricercatore che cataloga l’archivio video piuttosto incasinato di un regista scomparso. Alcuni degli spunti contengono ritmi, sound design o melodie che ricordano il lavoro rivoluzionario del duo sulla straordinaria Luce di Julius Onah. Spaventosa ed ossessiva con riferimenti a Paranormal Activity, footage alla The Ring e The Blair Witch Project. Musica enorme sostegno alle atmosfere.
